Are all emerging infectious diseases harmful?

Infections that have recently appeared in the population, whose geographic range is increasing day by day or threatens to increase in near future, are called emerging infectious diseases . Emerging diseases can be caused by previously undetected infectious agents or known agents that have spread. The emergence of new infectious diseases or the re-emergence of old infectious diseases can be caused naturally by the evolution of pathogens or the interaction of human population. Influenza or flu is an example of emerging infectious disease which is caused due to both natural and human factors. Influenza virus has the ability to change its genetic information. Major changes in the virus can cause pandemics as the human immune system is not prepared to recognize and defend against the new pathogens.
